Descripción del producto

Hair Auto Fit is a Unity editor extension that fits hair made for other avatars to your avatar's head in one click. It measures your avatar's head, centers the hair on it, and finds the size — up, back and sides separately — so the head above the eyes, the forehead and the temples all stay inside the hair. It does not need to know which avatar the hair was made for (it works from the hair mesh's shape). Modular Avatar Merge Armature hair is retargeted to your avatar's armature, BoneProxy hair is set to keep its current position, and hair with neither becomes a child of the Head bone. It can hide your avatar's own hair with one checkbox, and shows a note when a clothing mesh such as a hood is over the head (clothes are not changed). Undo with Ctrl+Z. The window can switch between English and Japanese.

No avatar or hair models are included (tool only).

Free vs Full

  • Free trial: fit with one click and see the result. Preview only: it goes back after about 30 seconds, or when you save the scene, enter Play mode, press Ctrl+Z or close the window.
  • Full: keeps the result, plus sliders for size, gap to the head, up/down and forward/back.

Try the Free trial with your own hair and avatar first. Importing the Full version over the Free trial replaces it.

Carefully tested before release

Made by Kotokoto Lab, an independent creator. This version was tested with 4 free hairs from BOOTH on 3 free avatars (12 combinations): each fit worked and gave the same result when pressed twice. With 3 of the hairs on the 3 avatars, the hair stayed in the same place after the upload-time processing (Modular Avatar / Avatar Optimizer) and followed the head, and the head did not poke through when viewed from the front, side and back.

Notes

For Humanoid avatars whose face mesh is attached to the Head bone. The hair mesh itself is not rebuilt, but because the size changes separately up, back and sideways, the hair's height-to-width ratio changes a little, and its sway (PhysBone) may change a little too — check in Play mode. Hairstyles that are wide open at the back or sides may not cover part of the head (a note is shown). For hair that is toggled from a menu, check how it looks when it is on. Check each creator's terms on using the hair on other avatars and resizing it.

Requirements

Unity 2022.3 (tested on 2022.3.22f1), VRChat SDK3 Avatars. Hair that uses Modular Avatar needs Modular Avatar installed.

How to install

  1. Download the .unitypackage (Free trial or Full) and drag it into the Project window, then click Import.
  2. Place the hair prefab in the scene, open Tools > Hair Auto Fit, put in the avatar and the hair, and press "Fit hair to head". The window has an "English" checkbox at the top.

Terms

OK for personal and commercial use. Do not redistribute or resell the tool. Follow each creator's terms for avatars and hair. Use at your own risk; back up important projects first.
