Headpat Reaction — Hearts and a blush when someone pats your head [VRChat / Unity / Modular Avatar] (Free trial available)

Descripción del producto

Headpat Reaction is a Unity editor extension that adds a headpat reaction to your avatar. When someone's hand (or your own) pats the top of your head, hearts float up above the head and the face blushes (cheek blush and happy eyes). About 1 second after the hand leaves, it goes back. Pick your avatar, check the blush blendshapes (picked from their names; change them if needed), and press one button. In VRChat, open the menu (R key on desktop) > Expressions > "Headpat" to turn it on or off (on at first). The window can switch between English and Japanese.

No avatar models are included (tool and heart textures only).

Free vs Full

  • Free trial: watch recorded frames of the reaction inside the tool window. It does not include the heart prefab or the animator, and works without Modular Avatar.
  • Full: add it to your avatar, use it in VRChat (on/off in the menu), remove it, and change the heart size later.

Notes

The Full version needs Modular Avatar 1.10 or later. Humanoid avatars only (the head bone is used). The contact sphere (VRC Contact Receiver, reacts to hands and fingers) is placed a little above the head bone and may be a little off on some avatars. The blush only shows if the avatar has those blendshapes; they are guessed from their names, so a different one may be picked. If another gimmick (such as gesture expressions) uses the same blendshapes, they may conflict. Two parameters: KL_HeadpatOn (Bool, synced, saved, 1 bit) and KL_Headpat (Bool, not synced). If the avatar already uses either name (Expression Parameters, animators or other Modular Avatar components), it is not added; it also stops on a broken animator / menu reference (the window shows which one). Missing Script components cannot be read, so they are not checked. 1 particle system with up to 16 particles, within VRChat's PC "Good" rank; other particles on your avatar count too. The hearts are PC only. No sound. If you change something inside KL_HeadpatReaction after the tool made it, "Remove" does not remove it; the heart size is the one exception and is treated like the Heart size slider. Prefab Mode and Project prefabs are not supported.

Requirements

Unity 2022.3 (tested on 2022.3.22f1) and the VRChat SDK (Avatars). The Full version also needs Modular Avatar 1.10 or later.

How to install

  1. Drag HeadpatReaction*.unitypackage into the Unity Project window and press Import.
  2. Menu: Tools > Headpat Reaction. The window has an "English" checkbox at the top.
  3. Drag your avatar from the scene into the window, check the blush blendshapes and press "Add to avatar" (Full version).

Importing the Full version over the Free trial replaces it.

Terms

Personal and commercial use are both OK (streaming and recording OK). Do not redistribute or resell the tool itself (files, heart textures, prefab, animator), or give away / sell avatars that include it. Use at your own risk.
